Avr4 Nature: Avr4 is the second C. fulvum effector that has been cloned (after Avr9). Cf-4 resistance is disrupted by a single point mutation in the Avr4 gene. This is mostly in a cysteine codon, which will make a sulfur-bridge disappear, destabilizing the protein.
